I am trying to determine if it is normal to respond to a letter of termination? I was completely shocked at the termination after 3 years of back to back contracts (year at a time) and going on the 4th, I was getting ready to prepare. There was no reason provided and actually she thanked me for my time with them, wished me well and offered to provide me with excellent references whenever I need them in the future.
Our contract was until 01/31/12 and she gave 30 day notice stating my cleaning services will end 11/01/11. Right before the holidays & both of my childrens Birthdays!
I always strived to keep her happy. We'd jump at last minute request and make sure to accommodate her need or request. I have a feeling she is taking on the cleaners from their other building that recently closed & now the building I clean for has the addition of the other buildings agents/ employees. I know the other building has had their cleaners for 15 years only because 2 years ago I offered my services to that building & they told me they've had their cleaners that long.
Can anyone give me suggestions on how to handle this? I really would like to know the reason and want to have her delivered a response from me, plus I'd like to have the excellent reference/ recommendation on paper before I'm completely gone in November.
Please help!
