Getting In And Out Of Your Harness - Fall Restraint Systems
Body harnesses are made one size fits all, within reason, and individual sizing. There are many different comfort ranges, padding, D rings, front and back hook up, and belt loop holes for your work belt (tool bags).
There are different snap and locking systems. Lanyards: There are many choices to make. Soft stop vs. no soft stop ref: labor and industries requirements. The base for all the parts of the fall restraint system appears to conform to a 5000 lb. safety factor. The lanyard may be chain or rope (nylon or web style). Lengths will vary from 3' to 50' depending on needs. Nylon is used because of its stretchability (shock absorbency).
Flat Web Style
The flat web style, I believe, is less likely to roll under the feet vs. a round rope. The web style can be made with an adjustable buckle ie. 25' down to about 13'.
