Very few businesses are left that can communicate with you and we both understand within reason what your needs are. Old industrial supply houses have almost disappeared, yet we are still doing business. The founder, Larry Hillman, has worked with many of the same clients for over thirty three years. It is our business to serve.
What Makes One Contractor More Successful Than Another?
Everyone knows about being polite to customer and employees. There are a thousand different areas of being a professional business person. Our basic values may be the most important single base to start from. With out it, we are just throwing sand into the air. Everyone is a salesman! No matter what our trade is. The scientist has to communicate with his peers or financial supporters. Frequently they are required to publish. They communicate (sell their work and or ideas to others). The carpenter sells himself to his fellow employees with his skill, dependability, work ethics, cleanliness, general appearance, the quality of his tools, the care he gives his tools are they sharp or dull. Do cheap tools mean cheap work? If you"re going to successful do present yourself in your best light in all - all ways always. Be a professional always do not let down! You only have one image to present others. It can be lost with but a single thoughtless mistake. The simplest greatest free gift we can share with each other is the smile. You want to be successful - discipline yourself and learn to smile. Eventually it will become second nature and not forced. The general contractor can be just like all the other thousands of their peer group. Or, can you stand out from all the others. The contractor is only a business, every type of business is a resource of creativity. What makes Microsoft a leader or Starbucks or Wheaties or Boeing or Hillman Bread my great uncles business.
From Our Home
My sons are successful, the smile serve others with joy. Volunteer, without a second thought, but to see someone else smile. They work hard and are professionals in everything they do, mostly. College degrees, teachers of sailing, piano and jazz groups, tennis, skiing, snowboarding child actors and models. I've never had any of these skills. But they do. They do have the skills of selling themselves and projecting confidence in others of their integrity and humility. Some contractors stand out because they have the skills to draw up planes for their customers. Sadly enough, way to many of these people being givers have been taken advantage of. When we have these skills to keep our motivation up it's important to get reimbursed - not for free.
